I am the older of two girls and am the luckiest girl around. My sister and I were inseparable and would talk to one another about everything. I would ask her advice about things in my life and she would ask me about things in her life. We have always been the rock in the other’s life and I didn’t realize how important that was until I didn’t have it. My husband decided we needed to move to another town and start a clean slate. We have had a difficult year and I can understand his reasoning. With a lot of sadness, I agreed to move. It has been very hard. We recently moved back to my home town and it's been quite the adjustment. But it also just worked out that way when my husband accepted a new and better job right by our hometown. I'd missed raising our family so far away from my family anyway, so it worked out well and we're really enjoying all the little things that I couldn't do with them before. One of those small things that really means a lot is taking the kids by my parents' house before they go trick or treating.

Even though lots of people probably do that every year and don't think about it, it was very special for me. I decided to dress up for it too and used my Houston Clear Internet to try and find some ideas about what to do. I went with the classic idea of a surgeon, which meant a lab coat and some scrubs, quite possibly the most comfy Halloween costume.

My husband is a real stickler for safety, so much so that the kids are practically scared to go outside without his permission. That’s not okay! I keep telling him he’s got to lighten up a bit or they’re going to pull away from us but he’s adamant that it’s a scary world out there and we’ve got to protect ourselves. One of our biggest recurring fights is about whether or not our daughter can walk to school on her own. I think so – she’s 14 years old! and we only live about a mile from the school!
